If you want to tint your car and start looking for the right type for you, you will find that there are many grades available that will confuse you in your choice. You may even end up choosing the wrong type and grade, which will make driving uncomfortable.

Therefore, it is very important to know what the tint grades are and how they differ from each other. The most important thing is to choose the right grade for you that meets your needs so that your driving experience is comfortable and the interior temperature is acceptable.

Tint grades refer to the amount of light that can pass through them into the cabin. The higher the tint percentage, such as 80 percent, the greater the amount of light that will pass through, which you will learn about in the next paragraph.

What are the degrees of car window tinting?

The degrees available in the market are as follows:

80 percent and above

The first level of window tinting films available is 80 percent and above, which allows the greatest amount of light to pass into your car and is slightly transparent. This is suitable for you if you want to block out bright sunlight while maintaining natural light. However, it does not have sufficient ability to reduce the interior temperature and reduce UV damage.

50 to 75 percent

This tint percentage is darker than the previous one and blocks more sunlight, It also reduces the interior temperature by reflecting less sunlight back into the car. If you choose 50 percent, it lets in half the amount of light, helps reduce glare, provides good protection from UV rays, and gives your car a beautiful look.

20 to 45 percent

These grades provide you with more privacy than the previous grades and make your car largely invisible from the inside. They are also excellent for reducing internal heat and limiting the amount of UV rays, which are harmful to the skin when exposed to them continuously. These grades are the most common among the other grades.

5 to 15 percent

These shades are dark and provide additional privacy and excellent protection from sunlight, especially UV rays. They also give the car a distinctive look, but they may limit external visibility, especially at night and on dark roads. Some countries prohibit these shades for public safety reasons.

0% tint

This tint is known for being completely opaque and dark black. It does not allow external light to pass through and contributes to a significant reduction in internal heat. However, this tint is prohibited in most countries around the world because it obstructs external visibility both at night and during the day, which could put you at risk of serious accidents, God forbid.
