The right steps for washing your car at home

Below are the right steps for cleaning your car at home:

First, gather the necessary tools

When washing your car, you will need a set of tools, most of which are available in your home, such as:

  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Microfiber towel
  • Small bowl
  • Water hose
  • Sponge
  • Tire cleaning brush
  • Washing soap

Cleaning the interior

After preparing all the tools, start cleaning the interior of your car by removing dirt and unnecessary items from the floors, under the seats, and in the trunk so that it is ready for the next step. Be sure to remove items you don't need from the trunk, as they add weight and contribute to increased fuel consumption.

Clean the interior with a vacuum cleaner

Remove all the floor mats from the car and clean them with a broom or shake them, then use the vacuum cleaner to suck up all the dust and dirt from the interior, such as the floors, seats, under the seats and between them, the center console, and any place the vacuum cleaner can reach.

Wipe the dashboard

Using a microfiber cloth, wipe the dashboard after applying a car cleaning product to it, then move on to the center console, gear lever, and steering wheel, then to the door handles, cup holders, and all other parts until they are completely clean.

Wash the outside of the car

Close all doors and windows, then spray water on the exterior using either a bucket, hose, or electric water pump, making sure to spray all parts of the body from top to bottom and sides, as well as spraying the tires and rims thoroughly.

Scrub the body thoroughly

Now use a car wash sponge with cleaning fluid and scrub all parts of the body, starting from the top to the bottom, and make sure to scrub the areas and corners well to get rid of dust, stains, and dirt stuck to the paint.

Clean the tires and rims

In this step, you need to clean the tires and rims using a brush and a special cleaning product. Start with the tires, then the rims, and scrub them thoroughly, including all corners and edges, because dirt tends to accumulate on the rims due to their proximity to the street.

Rinse the entire body

After cleaning the body and rims, use a hose or pump to rinse the entire car from top to bottom to ensure that all soap is removed and let the water fall to the ground, then dry the car immediately using a special strip to dry the water with a circular motion from top to bottom, then let the car dry completely from invisible water residue.
